[Sales & Marketing Representative]

 

We are a growing Japanese food manufacturer/distributor and are looking for an individual who is energetic, motivated and has a desire to learn and advance together with our company.

 

Job Information:
Sales & Marketing Representative

 

Terms of Employment:
Full-Time (Permanent)

 

Regular Work Hours:
Monday– Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

 

Main Job Responsibilities: 

 

1. Sales Activities

1) Sales territory includes British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan

2) Reach monthly & annual Sales Target

3) Maintain existing customers (create monthly activity plan, communicate with customers regularly, order taking, arrange inventory, provide customer support, follow up, analyze sales history)

   • Customer care (when problem arise, be sure to solve the issue as soon as possible)

   • Prepare Sales tools such as Quotations, Advertisements, Samples, etc. 

   • Business trip to your sales territories

4) Introduce new items

   • Discuss new projects with customers

5) Evaluate customer’s financial situation / Account Payable (Payment Follow Up)

   • Be sure to share information with accounting team 

6) “SAGE” ERP system tasks (Order Entry, Invoicing, Credit, Rebate, etc.)

7) Attend monthly Sales/Purchase Meeting 

8) Compare actual sales number with company core target

 

2. Marketing Activities


1) Expand your sales territory

   • Discover new markets 

   • Research Market Trends

   • Market Research 

   • Cold Calls 

   • Attend Tradeshows and Seminars 

2) Visit End Users (restaurants, retail markets, hospitality businesses, factories, etc.)

   • Make new connections 

   • Connect with distributors (our customers) 

3) Request new item ideas to R&D team

   • Share reports with R&D team

4) Analyze Competitors’ Products

 

3. Office Work

1) Organize office storage / Sales cabinets

2) Regularly maintain Digital data (Price List updates, Customer Files updates, etc.)

3) Answer Phone Calls and E-mails

4) Report any Food Safety issues to department supervisor or manager and QC department

5) Report any Injuries to department supervisor or manager and First Aid attendant

6) Maintain clean/safe working environment

7) Maintain company-provided devices 

 

4. Support of Company Projects / Receiving

1) Sample Drop-Off

 

Pre-requisites, Knowledge, Skills Requirements: 

   • Prior Sales experience 

   • Legally able to work in Canada 

   • Basic MS Office skills 

   • Business level in English 

 

License, Certification Requirements: 

   • Driver’s License (Class 5) or equivalent

 

Additional Skills Preferred: 

         • Knowledge of Japanese food 

   • Able to speak and/or understand Japanese 

         • Food Safe Level 1 or equivalent (company can arrange and pay for the course if employee does not already have this certification)
