Monday–Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Main Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this person will be responsible for:
- Implement, maintain, and continue improve the food safety system
- Conduct in house food safety training
- Investigate non-conformities, review corrective action plan, and verify the implementation
- Lead food safety team
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
- Set department goals and budget
- Report any food safety issues to direct department supervisor or manager
- Report any injuries to direct department supervisor or manager and first aid attendant
Pre-requisites, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:
A. Education and experience
a. Complete 2-year or 4-year degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Science education with 6 credits courses relevant to food safety AND 5-year QC/QA in food industry with 3-year management experience. Or,
b. A current AFCC employee who demonstrated competence to meet below D. to L. and evaluated by the president.
B. 3-year audit experience against one of GFSI schemes, preferably FSSC 22000.
C. Experienced in establishing food safety management system against one of GFSI schemes
D. Excellent knowledge at food safety system
E. Experienced in leading food safety team
F. Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
G. Excellent problem-solving skills
H. Excellent time management to handle multitask at fast pace working environment
I. Experience in setting department goals, managing department budget, and evaluating crews
J. Proficient in usage of computers, Words, Excel with ability to use e-mail
K. Able to communicate in English (speaking, reading, writing)
L. 2nd language is not mandatory, but it will be an asset
License, Certification Requirements:
A. 16-hour or longer implementation course for one of GFSI schemes
B. 16-hour or longer internal audit course for food safety management system.
