[Logistics Worker]

Logistics Worker

Terms of Employment:
Full-Time (Permanent) 

Wage Range:

$20 per hour 

Regular Work Hours:
Monday– Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

 

Main Job Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Logistics Manager & Logistics Assistant Supervisor, this person will be responsible for:

  • Processing all in-and outbound shipments including, but not limited to sorting, logging, delivering, packing and shipping
  • Driving our company van to pick up and deliver items
  • Auditing each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match order
  • Packing and labeling products based on established standards
  • Ensuring that proper equipment, manuals, and accessories are shipped with correct order
  • Various aspects of receiving, stocking, and releasing products; preparing shipping and receiving documentation; maintaining orderly files for all documentation
  • Participating in scheduling of daily transportation
  • Processing all receiving transactions and paperwork
  • Inspecting all incoming freight for damage; follow-up with Purchasing department to resolve any damaged freight issues
  • Assisting in maintaining material inventory levels
  • Assisting in responses to requests for tracing of missing shipments
  • Assisting in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in shipping area
  • Performing required administrative tasks; preparing all required reports and correspondence
  • Reporting, invoice checking, cost comparison and analysis, researching, etc.
  • Work site and equipment maintenance arrangement, clean up

Pre-requisites, Knowledge, Skill Requirements: 

  • Able to communicate in English
  • Detailed oriented/accuracy
  • Physically fit, quick learner and self-starter under minimal supervision. Able to perform labour-intensive, physically demanding work. 
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Computer skills
  • Experience with operating stand-up forklift
  • Able to operate a hand jack or electric pallet jack

License, Certification Requirements: 

  • A valid driver license (clean driving record)
